  • Low temperatures, such as 32°F to 36°F (or 0°C to 2°C), and high relative humidity are ideal for strawberries. As a result, putting them in the crisper drawer is the best option.
  • Strawberries need to breathe which is why most containers for berries have holes in them. If you’re using a container that you already own, make sure it’s partially open or it at least has some holes. If you carried your strawberries home in a plastic bag, puncture some holes in it or leave it half open to enable some air to circulate. For more ventilation, use a small container and avoid arranging your strawberries over two layers.
  • Once you’ve cut up strawberries, transfer them to an airtight container, make sure they’re dry, and refrigerate.

Note: you shouldn’t rinse your strawberries or remove their cap before refrigerating them, you can wash them right before you eat them. However if you insist on keeping them clean before refrigerating, you can wash them with vinegar and dry them thoroughly before refrigerating.
